🇩🇪 Jobs in Germany for Nepali workers

You can work in Germany without speaking German and without a German employer sponsoring you — but not by applying directly. The route that works runs through a Czech work permit and an A1 posting, and it is the same route thousands of workers use every year.

This page is not fully researched yet. We publish a full country guide only once we have verified the quota position, the application route and the document requirements for this nationality. Until then it is excluded from search engines.

Why applying to Germany directly usually fails

Germany is the single largest destination in the niche — 11,000 people a month search for work there in English alone.

ObstacleWhat it means for you
LanguageMost German employers hiring shop-floor staff expect at least A2 German. The ones who do not are already flooded with applications from inside the EU.
SponsorshipA German employer must be willing to run the work-visa process for a non-EU worker. For an unskilled role near the minimum wage, very few will bother — the admin costs more than hiring locally.
The queueGerman consular appointments for work visas are booked months ahead. Even with a willing employer, the calendar alone can cost half a year.

None of these obstacles exist in the Czech Republic, and the Czech Republic sits in the same single market as Germany.

The A1 posting route, in four steps
1 Czech employer A real job with a company registered in Czechia
2 Employee card Combined residence and work permit, 60–90 days
3 A1 certificate Your employer applies; you stay in Czech social security
4 Work in Germany No German language required. Your Czech employer posts you on an A1 certificate.

You never apply for a German visa. EU Regulation 883/2004 lets a Czech employer post you to another member state while you remain insured in Czechia.

What Germany pays

Germany minimum: €2,343 Germany minimum €2,343 Czech minimum: €924 Czech minimum €924

Rising to €14.60/hour on 1 January 2027. During a posting you are entitled to the host country's minimum terms for your sector, not the Czech rate.

Where the work is. Logistics, automotive assembly, food production and construction — the same trades that hire in Czechia, at roughly double the wage floor.

A word of caution on numbers: during a posting you are paid the host country's sector minimum, which is well above the Czech rate but is not the same as a full local employment contract. Anyone quoting you a full German salary for a posted role is overselling it.

What applies specifically to Nepali workers

Quota

None — Nepal is not in the Qualified Employee Programme, so applications go through the general queue.

A tight quota means timing matters more than anything else. Slots are allocated first come, first served and are regularly exhausted before the year ends.

Where you apply

There is no Czech embassy in Nepal. The honorary consulate in Kathmandu explicitly cannot process visas. Employee card applications are lodged at the Czech embassy in New Delhi.

Documents

Nepal is not a Hague Convention member, so apostille is impossible. Documents need consular superlegalisation: first the Nepali Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then the Czech embassy in Delhi. Processing takes up to 30 days, maximum ten documents per person.

Leaving Nepal

Department of Foreign Employment approval is mandatory: registration through a licensed agency, Form 1 approval in 5–10 working days, a 2,500 NPR welfare fund contribution for European destinations, biometrics, medical, a compulsory two-day pre-departure orientation, then the labour permit.

1,662 Nepali nationals in Czechia as of March 2026, up about 10% in fifteen months.

Frequently asked questions

Can Nepali citizens work in Germany?

Legally yes, but not easily by applying directly. Most German employers hiring shop-floor staff expect at least A2 German. The ones who do not are already flooded with applications from inside the EU. The realistic route for shop-floor work is a Czech employee card followed by an A1 posting, which places you on a German site without a German visa.

Do I need to speak German?

Not on the posting route. Neither the Czech employee card nor an A1 posting has a language requirement. Applying directly to a German employer usually does.

What is the quota situation?

For Nepal: none — Nepal is not in the Qualified Employee Programme, so applications go through the general queue. This is the single most important constraint and almost no agency mentions it.

Where do I apply?

There is no Czech embassy in Nepal. The honorary consulate in Kathmandu explicitly cannot process visas. Employee card applications are lodged at the Czech embassy in New Delhi.

What documents need legalising?

Nepal is not a Hague Convention member, so apostille is impossible. Documents need consular superlegalisation: first the Nepali Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then the Czech embassy in Delhi. Processing takes up to 30 days, maximum ten documents per person.

Do I need permission from Nepal to leave?

Department of Foreign Employment approval is mandatory: registration through a licensed agency, Form 1 approval in 5–10 working days, a 2,500 NPR welfare fund contribution for European destinations, biometrics, medical, a compulsory two-day pre-departure orientation, then the labour permit.

What does Germany pay compared with Czechia?

The Germany minimum is €2,343 a month against €924 in Czechia — roughly 2.5 times higher. During a posting you are entitled to the host country's minimum terms for your sector.

How long does the whole thing take?

Ten to sixteen weeks from signed contract to your first shift in Czechia. A posting abroad normally becomes available later, once you have an established employment relationship.
