About the plant
Rohlik is the Czech online grocery leader and the one company in this catalogue where high search demand and documented foreign hiring genuinely overlap. Its Chrášťany site near Prague runs Europe's first refrigerated AutoStore installation — 44,000 bins, 265 robots, up to 1,000 orders an hour — opened in December 2022. There is a second Prague centre in Horní Počernice and an 8,000 m² warehouse at CTPark Brno Líšeň.
The group put €45 million into warehouse automation in 2022 and announced a €400 million programme through 2025 across Prague, Hamburg, Munich and Vienna. Revenue reached 27 billion Kč, with the Czech and Hungarian operations profitable.

Recent news
| March 2017 | Immigration police raided the Prague warehouse: 85 foreign workers detained, 74 deportation decisions issued. The workers held Polish long-term visas, which permit tourist stay in the EU but not work in Czechia. An earlier episode in July 2016 saw 24 Ukrainian workers detained and deported. |
| July 2022 | The labour inspectorate found indications of illegal 'švarcsystém' contracting among Brno couriers — formally self-employed, in practice directed and controlled by the company. Rohlik called the finding 'full of errors'. |
| 2022 | A staffing agency supplying foreign workers to a Rohlik warehouse was fined over 3 million Kč for illegal employment. Rohlik itself avoided the fine. |
| 2022 | A former Ukrainian warehouse worker told Voxpot he was paid 130 Kč/hour against 250 Kč for Czechs in a comparable role, that nominal 12-hour shifts ran 15–16 hours, and that picking quotas rose 35–40% after February 2022. |
Can a foreign worker get in here?
Rohlik hires foreign workers at scale — that much is documented. So is the enforcement history: a mass immigration raid, a labour inspectorate finding on contracting, and a multi-million-koruna fine against a supplying agency. None of that makes the company unemployable, but it does mean the paperwork has to be right, and it is exactly why we place people on employee cards rather than on somebody else's visa.
Hires foreigners at scale. Read the enforcement history before you sign anything with any intermediary.

Can I apply directly instead of through an agency?
If you are already legally resident in Czechia, yes — apply on the company careers page. From outside the EU it is much harder, because a direct application rarely covers employee card sponsorship, and that is the part an agency arranges.
